Next-Generation Drives For Today's Demands

Today's commercial and industrial applications are just as demanding as ever. To keep up, the PowerXL DG1 family of variable frequency drives (VFD) has added three new frame sizes to its lineup. This series delivers the next generation of complete general-purpose VFD developed for the modern world.

Line up of the Eaton product line.

The Newest Additions

The PowerXL DG1 drives from Eaton are built with an industry-leading energy efficiency algorithm and high short-circuit current rating. Its robust design customers increased efficiency, safety, and reliability from 1 to 1000 horsepower. A standard 2-year warranty applies with a 3-year warranty upon certified startup.

Frame 0

This frame is optimized for 1-5 horsepower. It is designed to leave a smaller footprint and is more cost-efficient compared to the other frames. All horsepower sizes of Frame 0 are stocked with a 1-day lead time.

Frames 7 and 8

These two frames are made to increase power and performance. The newest additions boost the horsepower range of the DG1 product family from 250 to 1000. Select frames 7 and 8 catalog numbers are stocked with a 1-day lead time. The remaining carry a 4 to 6-week lead time.

Core features of the PowerXL DG1 General-Purpose VFD

The new PowerXL DG1 general purpose drives are engineered with the latest generation of power and control components. Here are its core features:

Ease to Use

These drives have improved menu navigation efficiency. A local/remote button, a removable graphic LCD keypad with copy/paste functionality, and a real-time clock with battery backup were added for hassle-free user experience. It is virtually low-maintenance thanks to its easy startup wizard, PC Tool software, four built-in applications, and diagnostics. Also, the PowerXL DG1 drives are fitted with an advanced configuration PC tool for more technical needs.

Space-Saving

The new DG1 drives are compact in size. Although small, they still provide an open Type 12 option with on-board communication such as:

  • EtherNet/IP, ModbusT/TCP
  • RS-485: Modbus RTU
  • BACnet, MS/TP, Onboard I/O
  • 8DI, 1DO
  • 2AI, 2AO
  • 3FC relays

Energy Optimization

The Active Energy Control Algorithm minimizes energy losses in the motor by dynamically adjusting the V/Hz curve. And with the addition of a 5% DC choke, input surge protection, and built-in EMI/RFI filter, the PowerXL DG1 controls energy use while optimizing efficiency.

Reliable

Made to last, the PowerXL D1 drives are tough and reliable. They are given a high overload (CT) and low overboard (VT) rating with standard conformal coated boards. A standard EMC filter and brake chopper circuit (FR1-FR3) are added to the design. As well as a durable metal power section, 50C rating (60C de-rating), and removable keypad IP54 for extra stability.

Safe for Everyone

Eaton strives to earn the highest ratings and certifications for quality and safety. The PowerXL DG1 drives have gained UL, CE, cUL, RoHS, C-Tick accreditation to prove they are safe to use and have met and exceeded the industry standard.
